The Diaries of Professor Angell 2017

Gameplay footage from my video game, 2017.

This vidoe game is the first in what will be a series of adaptations of literature into video games. We are used to this occurring in other media, books being converted into radio, television and film.

It is rare to see this in the newer medium of video games. The narrative structure of stories lend themselves very well to the genre of ‘exploration games’ sometimes referred to as ‘walking simulators’. In these games the focus is on narrative and story telling necessarily on action. The conceit of the games are to give those familiar with the stories an immersive interactive version to wander into and experience. As well as creating a route into the literature for those used to interactive games but not so accustomed to reading books.
