[A bit] About me

Michael Salmond is Associate Professor and program leader for the Digital Media Design B.A. program at Florida Gulf Coast University. 

He has written three books;

  • ‘Video Game Level Design’
  • ‘Video game Design: Principles & Practices from the Ground Up’
  • ‘The Fundamentals of Interactive Media Design’

He has also  published several papers and chapters including;

  • “The Gamer as Tourist: The Simulated Environments, the Impossible Geographies of Videogames” in the volume: Tourism and the Creative Industries: Theories, Policies and Practices
  • “The Mediation and Fetishization of the Travel Experience” for the volume Mediating the Tourist Experience: From Brochures to Virtual Encounters.
